SLS Statement on Pay, Pensions and Working Conditions

6th March 2020

On Friday 6 March 2020, the Society of Legal Scholars released the following statement regarding pay, pensions and working conditions:

“For universities to continue to attract the best scholars, they must offer appropriate pay, pensions and working conditions. The SLS is concerned by casualisation and precarious working conditions across the HE sector, as well as the impact of proposed changes to USS pensions. The SLS is particularly concerned about the gender and ethnicity pay gap, the impact of precarity and casualisation on marginalised members of the academy, and the impact these matters have on all scholars’ health and wellbeing.”
