SLS Best Paper by a Doctoral Student Prize 2021

8th November 2021

The Society of Legal Scholars is delighted to announce that the winner of the prize for the Best Paper by a Doctoral Student at the 2021 Annual Conference is David Sawtell (Cambridge), for ‘Injunctions, land and the cynical breach’.

The judging panel of Professor Thom Brooks (Durham, Immediate Past President of the Society), Professor Bruce Wardhaugh (Durham, Editor in Chief of Legal Studies) and Natalie Wortley (Northumbria, Acting Subject Section Secretary), would like to thank all doctoral candidates who uploaded written papers in addition to presenting at the conference. This is the second year of the prize and the field was very strong once again. The panel was impressed with the quality and rigour of the eligible papers but was unanimous in choosing David Sawtell as the winner.
