In the 20th anniversary year of the Scotland Act 1998 and the Human Rights Act 1998- what has been learned and what are the next steps in Scotland’s human rights journey?
The conference will mark twenty years of the Human Rights Act within the devolution settlement and reflect on the potential of the next twenty years to further the implementation of internationally-recognised standards, including those relating to social security, the highest attainable standard of health, cultural heritage, and environmental governance, amongst others. It will be a forum for generating new research questions of value to legal practice, for participative debate on past and future challenges and possibilities, and to engage with the work of the First Minister’s Advisory Group on Human Rights Leadership
