Subscription Policies
Early Career and other Concessions
Concessions in subscription fees have been authorised by Council for early career members (in post for less than fours years full time) and those reading for a doctorate, or who are employed part time in a teaching post in a qualifying institution. These attract a two-thirds reduction for the qualifying period.
Taxation
Subscription payments and arrears payments both receive relief from taxation within the United Kingdom.
Convenor Discount
Council has agreed that in recognition of their contribution to the Society, the subscription increase will not apply to Subject Section Convenors for as long as they hold that position. Equally, members who later become Convenors will receive a 50% discount in their subscription.
Discount for Institutional Membership
We would like to draw the attention of Heads of Department to Council's decision to grant rebates for bulk purchases where departments pay for their staff to be members.
The rebates are:
20+ members 5% discount
40+ members 10% discount
80+ members 15% discount
120+ members 20% discount
