The Human Rights Act Ten Years On
The Society's 2010 Annual Conference will be held at the University of Southampton, starting in the afternoon of Monday 13 September and finishing at lunchtime on Thursday 16 September. The main theme of the Conference will be The Human Rights Act Ten Years On (from implementation in England and Wales at least!), but other contributions to Subject Section seminars will, of course, be welcome. All Conference sessions will be held on the main Highfield campus with publishers' stands and refreshments in the same location. Accommodation will be a short walk away at the Glen Eyre complex, with en suite and standard options. There will also be de luxe accommodation available at Chilworth Manor just outside the city.
I hope that you will be able to attend the 101st Conference and help launch the new centenary for the Society in style. As ever, Conference promises to be an existing and stimulating occasion with the opportunity to exchange ideas and socialise with colleagues both from the British Isles and further afield.
Bookings
Post card invitations with information on how to book on to the conference will be sent out in May 2010, at which point the bookings will open on the Conference website.
Subject Sections Programme
The division of subject sections into A and B groups will be confirmed on the Society's website later in 2009. Members will then be able to check the days on which their particular subject section programme is running. General enquiries may be addressed to the Subject Sections Secretary on sss@legalscholars.ac.uk.
Call for Papers
Subject Section convenors will be sending out a call for papers in February 2010. Members are invited to register their interest in delivering a paper with the relevant convenor.
