Talking Law and Ethics is the introductory series from the newly
established Centre for Health,Law and Emerging technologies (HeLEX) based
in the Department of Public Health. Current research within HeLEX focuses on global governance issues in genetics and genomics with emphasis on privacy protection, data sharing frameworks, and translational medicine. In this
series staff and research associates from the Centre will each explore some key legal and ethical issues in genomics research, based on their research, which have implications for scientific practice. The sessions will consist of an introductory talk followed by an open discussion.
