Lecture: Embodied Gender/Sex Identity – What is it and how does it form?

  • Wednesday 16th May 2018
  •  School of Law, Liberty Building, Moot Court, University of Leeds, Belle Vue Road, Leeds LS3 1DB

Professor Fausto Sterling, an internationally-renowned gender theorist, will introduce the term Gender/Sex Identity, arguing that Gender/Sex Identity is embodied and multidimensional. Further, this identity is a dynamic process rather than a fixed state, and it emerges from probabilistic processes rather than being predetermined by either Sex (nature) or Gender (nurture).

The lecture will take place from 17.30-19.00. All are welcome, but advance registration is required.
